​When the Mithril Hawks converted from traditional knights into armored infantry equipped with Arche Armor, their war machines simultaneously received an upgrade. In addition to the Ironwing heavy ballista, their catapult design was also enhanced with a self-propelled platform and a blue crystal steam engine to power the firing system, allowing it to move across battlefield under its own power while providing firepower.
A truly potent weapon in a siege, at least on a battlefield without Arche-Ymirus, it is capable of responding to a variety of battle conditions by hurling crystal mist interference rounds, aether exploding rounds, aether-critical napalm rounds, or Meteor Shower canister rounds, and can even deliver a squad of Hawk Talons in behind enemy lines to carry out sabotage missions.
Its maneuverability leaves something to be desired, and its firing and mobility systems rely on the same energy supply, meaning that the catapult cannot perform both functions at the same time. Nevertheless, its sturdy construction enables it to provide sustained firepower. It is equipped with a specialized blue crystal hammer head; when necessary, its shielding can be removed to allow it to ram city walls or use its hammer to break through.
Unlike traditional catapults, the Flame Hammer is highly mobile and has a high rate of fire. Capable of suppressing even a flood of migratory beasts, it is Karsten's most brutal war machine.
