Designed specifically for felling trees, the Saw Master's most recognizable trait is its enormous circular saw blade. Worth noting is the fact that it is capable of serving not just as an item of logging equipment and a construction vehicle, but also as a military mech highly effective in combat.
　　With the successful OT-43 War Furnace as proof of concept for the feasibility of converting construction machinery into fighting vehicles, Commander Geirsson of the Yggdrasill Legion carried on thinking up new ways of refitting weapons on the spot and putting them into use. From the beginning, the ST-47 Saw Master was designed as a construction vehicle with combat capabilities.
　　The structure of the operator's seat and mechanical arms has the same modular design as the War Furnace, ensuring interoperability and making them easier to maintain and refit, but unlike the War Furnace, it has a quadrupedal base better suited for moving through mountainous areas. Though the structure of their upper halves is similar, the War Furnace appears more like a vehicle, while the Saw Master's quadrupedal design gives it the overall form of a mech. Though somewhat unwieldy, lacking the offensive capabilities granted to the War Furnace by caterpillar treads and flamethrowers, the Saw Master's four legs and claw offer greater flexibility during battle. Without being refitted, it can carry out logging and other resource acquisition missions, as well as construction projects like building roads; it is also especially well-suited to fighting defensive battles. 
The multifunctionality of these mechs surpasses the expectations of Geirsson, the man who thought them up. He intends to use them to maintain the legion's turtle-shaped mechanized fortress and reinforce pseudo-Ymirus mechs on missions.
